The Nicholas Wihlborg Foundation Mission Statement: The Nicholas Wihlborg Foundation is a 501c3 dedicated to fighting childhood cancer, while supporting children and their families who are impacted by this disease.
Our foundation members have experienced first-hand how hard the fight is. Nicholas Wihlborg and his family fought T-Cell ALL for one and a half years before Nick succumbed to this terrible disease. During this period, his parents realized that there are way too many other families fighting similar circumstances. These children and their families need support on multiple levels – from understanding their options as newly diagnosed patients, to monetary needs or even raising awareness of the dismal amount of Federal funding provided to finding a cure.
This is why our Foundation was established. We are dedicated to assisting families in need in any way we can. We are dedicated to supporting the brave doctors and nurses who are on the front lines fighting individual battles every day. These heroes need community assistance in raising funds to support their centers. And finally, we are dedicated to raising awareness regarding the amount of funding research childhood cancer receives. Because one child dying due to lack of research is simply one child too many.
